?Being kind, to me, is an act that should be fluidly practiced, not just acted upon when it?s convenient for you,? says 16-year-old actress Riele Downs (@rieledowns). ?It also means to outwardly make an effort to include and accept everyone around you. It?s the willingness to go the extra mile, to make others feel good and to not have an expectation of receiving anything in return.? This weekend, Riele attended the Instagram Kindness Prom ? in a dress she designed. ?Since I?m home-schooled myself, I didn?t know if I would get a chance to go to an actual prom,? says Riele. ?I was incredibly excited because it?s an event that celebrates the act of kindness.
