In 2016, Valerie started her photography project @afrosinsanjuan, where she documents hair as seen on the streets of San Juan. ?Hair is really just the tip of the iceberg,? Valerie says. ?There?s a lot more in there. Everybody has a different story. My favorite part is talking to people, asking them questions and getting to know them.
